Welcome to The Met Hotel

Greater Vancouver's oldest Heritage Hotel. Centrally located, and just steps to SkyTrain.

Built in 1892 and originally known as the Burr Block, this building is one of only two buildings in the downtown core to survive the fire of 1898. A classic Victorian building of red brick with terra cotta ornament, it has recently been redone as an elegant boutique hotel. The Met offers 26 guest rooms, each with eleven foot ceilings, decorated in a traditional style.

* Cozy, safe, clean, great staff.
* Backside of hotel has sounds from patio and Sky train but can be remedied with earplugs.

“The Met is a historical building with character. It was quaint, comfy, safe and affordable. It is located in a convenient location right next to Sky train that takes you all around Vancouver and it's a block from the police station which is a plus to me. The hotel itself has a bar and grill with an outside patio. The staff in the bar and grill were very friendly and makes one feel at home at the pub and the same could be said of the inn keepers of the hotel, the couple that runs the hotel, very nice people. The front desk is not manned 24/7 but you are given a code to buzz yourself in and if you forget your code you can buzz the inn keeper and they will buzz you in. I had a room facing the back of the hotel and could hear people in the patio area drinking and socializing and I could hear the sounds of the Sky train which didn't bother me because I sleep with earplugs anyways, but my advice to others is if you do not sleep with earplugs and are a light sleeper ask for a room facing the front of the hotel. The room was clean, and maid service offered daily, if need be, fresh sheets and clean towels. Fresh muffins and hot coffee was served every morning exactly at 8am. The Met pub have a great breakfast menu at decent prices. Right next to the pub was a liquor store, a few steps away a mini mart. The restaurants in the area were nice, the Greek restaurant up the street was enjoyable with a nice view of the river. Down the street is a market/shopping center and a riverboat casino with bars and restaurants (in a couple months the boat will be moving back to New Orleans and the casino will be relocating to a new facility, which is sad because the riverboat is unique). All in all, for the very affordable price and the homey, comfy feeling of The Met, I think it was a pleasurable stay and would stay there again in the future.”
